After spending his childhood in the Houston area, Scott Unger graduated from Wylie High School in 1998 and recieved a Business Management degree from Abilene Christian University in 2003.

Scott began painting houses under the name Unger Painting Co. in 2007, as a way to make ends meet for his young family. He painted close to 800 Abilene-area homes under this name, solo or with a skeleton crew, before rebranding the company to Diamondback Painting in 2016. He has since been dedicated to training the best team of painters who can tackle any size job. Determined to hire painters as employees instead of subcontracted labor, Scott’s team has grown significantly over the years.

Outside of work, Scott enjoys spending the majority of his time with his wife (and Diamondback Head of Marketing) Melanie and their two children, Lincoln and Lexi.
